Following sell out success with Fame, Grease and Hairspray, the Memo Arts Centre and Superstars in the Making now present the greatest love story ever told –West Side Story.

Tony and Maria

The Memo Arts Centre and Superstars in the Making co-production, directed by Christian Bullen and accompanied by musical director Christopher Fossey, is set to be even bigger than last year’s hit production Hairspray.

Included in the cast of 45 is local Cowbridge girl Seren Hamilton who plays the lead of Maria. Seren is 16 years old and a pupil at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg. Seren was a member of Only kids Aloud, performing at the Opening Ceremony for the London Olympics, and was part of the Christmas Tour with Only Men Aloud and Only Boys Aloud. Last year Seren was a member of the Choir of the World winners at the Eisteddfod, and Cardiff and the Vale Urdd Eisteddfod County Champion in the Under 19 girls solo.

Taking on the lead role of Tony is Ethan Whitcombe, aged 19 from Cardiff. Ethan is also no stranger to the stage and has played lead roles in Grease, Les Miserables, Fame and We will Rock You. Ethan is about to embark upon a 3 year degree in Musical Theatre in Chichester from September 2015.
