Pain and Glory tells of a series of re-encounters experienced by Salvador Mallo, a film director in his physical decline. From his childhood in the 60s, and his first adult love in 1980s Madrid, to the pain of that breakup, the discovery of writing and of cinema. In recovering his past, Salvador finds the urgent need to recount it, and in that need he also finds his salvation. Directed and written by Pedro Almodóvar and starring Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz.
