Let’s get ready to rumble as one Dad wrestles with autism.
Danson Thunderbolt is no ordinary Dad, and his teenage son Luke is not so ordinary either. For Luke is autistic and the Autistic Shadow gets between them every single day, making communication and their relationship a struggle. So what’s a Dad to do?
Join us in a real wrestling ring as The Thunderbolt battles The Shadow in a fight to the finish as he tries to maintain contact with Luke whilst the Ref tries to keep control. Funny, poignant and real, the play is adapted from the blog Living with Luke, and fuses wrestling and theatre to show what life is like living with an autistic child.
Following sell out performances in Colchester, Harlow and around the country the ‘part wrestling match, part play’ is not to be missed!
“Subtle, poetic, passionate and above all human.” Your Harlow
“Brilliant acting and very well portrayed. As a parent myself of an autistic teenage son it was like having a ringside seat (literally) of my own life, which I have to say was ‘spot on’.” Audience member
