Concerts and Cakes is a matinee concert bringing people together regularly to enjoy delightful live music whilst enjoying meeting new friends over a cuppa and slice of cake from the Memo’s Café.
Our Concerts and Cakes sessions are fully accessible and dementia friendly.
Each session is delivered in cabaret style and begins with an informal participatory music session led by Live Music Now musicians, followed by tea and cakes.
The Memo is working in partnership with Live Music Now, the UK’s leading musicians’ development and outreach charity, who provide exceptional live music experiences to people with limited access to the arts, due to disability, illness or social disadvantage.
Participants benefit from the amazing therapeutic, social and emotional benefits of engaging with live music – an experience that transforms and enriches lives.

ConunDrum are a percussion duo comprised of Harry Greenway and Ellen Smith. The pair met while studying for their Masters in Percussion Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. They have performed together in various ensembles including a variety of chamber music ensembles while at College where they were fortunate to perform in concert with the London Symphony Orchestra’s Sam Walton.
Their repertoire consists of a large variety of music, both in style and in the percussion instruments used. It includes genres such as classical transcriptions, jazz-influenced works, contemporary compositions (some self-penned) and their own arrangements and medleys of modern songs.
